Panther Bowlers Remain Undefeated With Win Over Fort Edward

January 7, 2016 By eastwickpress

The Hoosick Falls bowling team remained undefeated with a big win on January 5 over Fort Edward, which is the best team in the Northern Division of the Adirondack League, by the score of 4-0.  Hoosick Falls now has a point total of 36-0 and Fort Edward has a point total of 28.5-7.5.  [private]Hoosick Falls had a match total pin count of 3,486 pins to Fort Edward’s match total pin count of 3,113.  Top bowler for Fort Edward was Natalie Perras with a 246-584.  Top Varsity bowlers for Hoosick Falls were:  Kyla Day 236-649, Josh McCart 256-626, Jon Bossoni 223-585, A.J. Hurlburt 226-566, Jennifer Sargood 213-535,  and Tyler Lindsey 190-525.  Top J.V. and Exhibition bowlers were:  Ben Kapron 221-604 (Great bowling), Chris Snyder 192-554, Owynn Arnold 182-492, and James Hynd 180-478.

Coach Lang said, “This was a big win for our team, beating the best team in the Northern Division of our league.  We will probably meet them again in the League Championship Match for the overall Adirondack League title in early February.  The team started out a little slow in the first game but came on at the end of the game to win by “96” pins.  It was really important to get off to a good start against such a good team.  The second and third games were closer and the team was able to hang in there and win both games because we made the proper adjustments as the lanes broke down.  We practice on these lanes and the team knew how to adjust as the oil was being used up by all the good bowlers using the same line on the lanes.  I was very proud of the team and how they didn’t get down if they had a bad frame or bad game.  They came back by learning by their mistakes which happens a lot in practice and in previous matches.”[/private]
