submitted by Brian Bushner

Hoosick Falls Elementary School has finalized the process for Kindergarten registration and screening for the 2016-2017 school year.  [private]Parents of children residing in the Hoosick Falls Central School District who will be five years old on or before December 1, 2016, should contact the elementary office as soon as possible at 686-9492 to provide the district with required information.  This information will be used to create a mailing list for future events, including Kindergarten screening.

An informational meeting for parents and guardians only will be held on Thursday, April 14th at 6:00 p.m. in the elementary cafeteria.  Parents will receive important information regarding medical requirements and concerns, transportation, and the school breakfast and lunch program.  They will also have the opportunity to meet all of the Kindergarten teachers and briefly preview the curriculum as they rotate through the classrooms.

Hoosick Falls Elementary School Principal Amy Netti said, “We are very excited to welcome the class of 2029 to our school, and we look forward to meeting all of our incoming students, as well as their parents and guardians.” Netti also notes that “Kindergarten is an important milestone in a child’s education, where they will get the right start academically, socially, and emotionally to succeed in life.”

An additional component of the Kindergarten registration process is Kindergarten Screening, which is scheduled for June 20th through June 22nd.  More detailed information about the screening will be provided at the informational meeting for parents.  Registration packets are available through the elementary office.  We look forward to hearing from you.[/private]
