Photo by Steve BradleyHoosick Falls now has a league match point total of 40-0 and an overall match record of 11-1.  Top bowler for Hoosic Valley was Joe Duncan with a 223-588.  Top Varsity bowlers for Hoosick Falls were:  Josh McCart 234-637, Kyla Day 233-621, A.J. Hurlburt 213-610, Jennifer Sargood 221-602, and Jon Bossoni 188-527.  Top J.V. and Exhibition scores were:  Chris Snyder 191-544, Owynn Arnold 201-504, Ben Kapron 172, Matt Bulson 171, Lilli Williams 164, and Erin McCart 162.
Coach Lang said, “This was a great win on a day when we were honoring our three great seniors at their last home match of their career at HFCS.  They all bowled great with Josh getting a match high 637, Kyla bowled a great 621, and Jennifer had a great 602.  The match total of 3,465 was the highest that we’ve  bowled in a few weeks.  We needed a day like this to get ready for the end of the regular season matches next week and then the roll-offs and tournaments coming up the first week in February.  The team has to work hard in the next three weeks if we are going to continue our winning ways.  The most important part of the season is in February.  The team knows that this time of the year is what they work so hard for during the entire season!  I’m very proud of the success they have had so far this season and I hope it will carry into February.”
A Win Against Stillwater January 19
The Hoosick Falls bowling team defeated Stillwater on Tuesday by the score of 4-0.  Hoosick Falls had a match total of 3,529 pins to Stillwater’s match total of 3,119 pins.  Hoosick Falls now has a league point total record of 44-0 and an overall match record of 12-1; Stillwater has a league point total record of 19-21.  Top bowler for Stillwater was Britaney Myers with a nice 245-685.  Top bowlers for Hoosick Falls Varsity were:  Josh McCart 237-667, Kyla Day 224-625, A.J. Hurlburt 227-614, Jennifer Sargood 239-566, Jon Bossoni 225-557, and Tyler Lindsey 215-500.
Hoosick Falls had some outstanding scores bowled by J.V. and Exhibition bowlers:  Meghan Backes 246-655, James Hynd 204-564, Matt Bulson 264-563, Ben Kapron 233-544, Lilli Williams 188, Chris Snyder 177, and Dan Suite 174.
Coach Lang said, “This was a good win on the road against Stillwater, which has a very competitive team.  We got off to a good start winning the first game by 136 pins and winning the second game by 218 pins.  The third game was a lot closer but we were able to win by 56 pins giving us the match total by a margin of 410 pins.  The entire team bowled very well from Varsity to J.V. to Exhibition.  Our team likes to bowl on synthetic lanes because they don’t break down as quickly as wood lanes.  I hope that we bowl good again tomorrow when we travel to Saratoga to bowl against Corinth on synthetic lanes for our last league match of the season.”[/private]
