As part of a “Save a Life” initiative, the Berlin Counseling Team at the Berlin Central School District, Berlin, New York, will host two upcoming Community Information Nights in an effort to open discussion and raise awareness regarding issues such as anxiety, depression and suicide prevention. [private]Parents, teachers, officials, youth, and other community members will be educated about the impact these issues can have on the community and will learn how to identify possible warning signs, and how they can engage in conversations with family and friends about these difficult topics. Attendees will gain knowledge on how to develop ways to address these issues among their family and friends and where to access help. Take home resources will be available.
In an effort to offer access to community members across the District, the first information night will be held on Tuesday, February 9, at the Petersburgh Town Hall, with the second being scheduled for March 1, at the Stephentown Library. Both sessions will run from 6:30pm – 8:00pm and will include refreshments.
