In the spirit of giving during the holidays, third graders at St. Mary’s Academy in Hoosick Falls have been very busy! [private]Two of the girls, Lillian Gardell and Ava Case, came up with the idea to make rubber band bracelets to sell for 50 cents apiece, with the proceeds to go to the local Food Pantry. All four girls in the class helped to make the bracelets and Lilly’s dad offered to match their earnings. At our Pancake breakfast last month Lilly, Ava, and Kaylin presented Ms. Bulmer $120 for the Food Pantry. Amelia was absent that day.
Next came their yearly community service project. Each year the third grade class collects used winter clothing in good condition and non-perishable foods which they bring to His Pantry at Sacred Heart Church in Bennington. This year they collected more than ever before, and as you can see from the photo, were quite tuckered out carrying all of the bags and boxes in!
