New Lebanon/Berlin Swim Team Comes From Behind To Win Meet With Wahconah

December 24, 2015 By eastwickpress

submitted by coach Tim Christiansen

At a swimming meet on December 22, the New Lebanon/Berlin swim team swept Wahconah.  The girls won by a score of 48-46 and the boys won 21-15.  [private]The girls were led by Sophomore Gigi French who won the 200 Freestyle and 100 Breaststroke. She was also on the 200 and 400 Freestyle Relay teams that placed first.

Catherine Roden had a great day, placing second in both the 200 IM (second time competing in that race) and 100 Breaststroke (touching out Lucy Sears by 2 hundredths of a second).

Kalee Henig and Hope Gadomski placed First and Second in the 100 Freestyle to get the team within 2 points of Wahconah.

New Lebanon/Berlin was down by two points going into the last race.  Coaches O’Hare and Christiansen decided to load up the A relay team with their best swimmers, hoping they would at least tie the meet, and it paid off.  Not only did the A Relay win but the B relay of Jessica Caruso, Mari Lauritzen, Taylor Robertson and Catherine Roden came up with great swims and placed Third, locking up a great come from behind win.
