Hoosick Falls Senior Chorus Plays Carnegie Hall

HF High School Senior Chorus Shares The Stage With Sarah McLachlan

Hoosick Falls High School was invited to sing at one of the world’s most famous concert halls for the fourth time this year, and they did on December 4.

The Senior Chorus performed with Tim Janis’s The American Christmas Carol, which was celebrating its tenth year at Carnegie Hall. With a full orchestra and a 200-voice choir, Tim Janis was joined by Special Guest Neil Sedaka, actor-singer Ioan Gruffudd Zachary Levi, and Grammy Award-winning musician Sarah McLachlan, with whom they shared the stage for the grand finale.

Superintendent Ken Facin was in the audience during the concert. Afterwards, he went backstage to congratulate the Hoosick Falls singers on their terrific performance. This is the fourth time that Hoosick Falls High School has performed at Carnegie Hall.  Photo courtesy HFCSD

Additional performers included Dove Award-winner Cindy Cruse Ratcliff, Alex Boye and Sleepy Man Band, The American Boychoir, Broadway Youth Ensemble,The Montclair State University Symphony Orchestra, and The American Christmas Carol Choir.

Proceeds from the concert will benefit Kate Winslet’s Golden Hat Foundation, which is dedicated to changing the way people with autism are perceived, and The Sarah McLachlan School of Music, which provides music instruction at no cost to at-risk and underserved children and youth.

Hoosick Falls Central School was proud to be a participant in this exciting event.[/private]
