Hurlburt 223-571, Tyler Lindsey 212-570, and Jennifer Sargood 196-561.  Other good J.V. and Exhibition scores were:  Meghan Backes 171-495, Ben Kapron 194-479, Chris Snyder 192-472, and James Hynd had a 175.  Coach Lang said, ”We got off to a good start by winning the first game by 131 pins with a nice 1,218 game and followed that up with a better second game winning by 218 pins with a 1,245 game.  The third game we won by a narrow pin count of 3 pins to give us the 4-0 victory.  The team bowled very well on tricky lane conditions and were able to adjust as they broke down in the second game.  In the third game we got a little careless and missed too many spares towards the end of the game and were lucky to pull out the win.  Overall, it was a great victory over our arch rival in the Southern Division of the Adirondack League.  This was our biggest challenge of the young season so far this year.”

Vs. Hadley-Luzerne And Lake George

On December 9 the bowling team won a tri-match against Hadley-Luzerne 4-0 and Lake George 4-0 to earn a sweep of the Northern Division teams in our league at Lake George Bowl.  Hoosick Falls had a match total of 3,318 pins to Hadley-Luzerne’s 3,022 pins and Lake George’s 2,603.  Hoosick Falls now has a point record of 20-0 while Lake George is 8-8 and Hadley-Luzerne is 1-7.  Top bowler for Hadley-Luzerne was Drew Cirillo with a 194-565 and top bowler for Lake George was Spencer Catlin with a 193-553.  Top Varsity bowlers for Hoosick Falls were:  A.J. Hurlburt 257-644, Josh McCart 207-606, Jon Bossoni 227-570, Kyla Day 191-524, Jennifer Sargood 181-495, and Chris Snyder 162-479 (in his first career Varsity start).  Other J.V. and Exhibition scores were:  Dan Suite 158-444, Erin McCart 172, James Hynd, and Owynn Arnold 166.  Coach Lang said, “The team bowled pretty good on very oily lanes that didn’t dry up very much as the match went on.  The bowlers stayed very patient as they went from game to game and tried to find the correct line to play.  For the most part the team did a pretty good job making their spares, which helped win the second game against Hadley-Luzerne by only 7 pins.  The team is getting good practice on different lane conditions which will help as we go through the season.  Every bowling alley has its own different oil patterns and lane conditions.”

Vs. Granville

The Hoosick Falls bowling team beat Granville on Thursday December 10 by the score of 4-0.  Hoosick Falls had a match total of 3,378 to Granville’s match total of 2,086.  Hoosick Falls now has a match point total record of 24-0 and Granville has a match total record of 0-8.  Top bowler for Granville was Dawson Goodspeed with a 199-514.  Top Varsity bowlers for Hoosick Falls were:  Josh McCart 238-641, A.J. Hurlburt 225-587, Kyla Day 204-567, Jennifer Sargood 219-555, and Jon Bossoni 203-550.  Other good J.V. and Exhibition scores were:  Chris Snyder 211-572, Matt Bulson 218-482, Ben Kapron 228-482, and Lilli Williams 197.

Coach Lang said, “We had some good scores bowled today by Varsity, J.V. and Exhibition bowlers.  Josh led the Varsity with a nice 238-641 followed by A.J. with a good 225-587.  Chris led the J.V. with a great 211-572 followed by Matt who bowled a great 218 on the Varsity with 482 total.  Ben led the Exhibition with a great 228 – 482.  It’s great to see good scores at all the different levels of the team.  It was another good team effort by everyone on the team.”

Vs. North Warren

The Hoosick Falls bowling team had its best home scoring on December 15 as they beat North Warren by the score of 4-0.  Hoosick Falls had match total pins of 3,673 to North Warren’s match total pins of 2,275.  Hoosick Falls now has a league point record of 28-0 and North Warren has a league record of 5-11.  Top bowler for North Warren was Colin Gagnon with a 163-465. Hoosick Falls Varsity bowlers had some great scores: Jennifer Sargood 246-665, Josh McCart 238-656, Kyla Day 224-633, A.J. Hurlburt 225-617, Jon Bossoni 202-568, and Tyler Lindsey 207-534.  We also had some good J.V. and exhibition scores:  Chris Snyder 201-536, Matt Bulson 186-504, James Hynd 182-488, and Ben Kapron 173-478.  Coach Lang said, “The team bowled great today for our best home total of the season.  We needed to bowl a good home match because we have some important home matches coming up after the first of the year.  We started out with a nice first game total of 1,159, then bowled great in the second game with a 1,236 and finished the last game with another great game of 1,278.  This was the best overall team effort on Varsity that we have had all year.  I hope that we can continue our great bowling tomorrow in our match against Whitehall.”[/private]
