Even though winter has not fully arrived yet, it is never too early to think about summer. The Hoosick Falls High School Tech Club has built a pair of Adirondack chairs that will be raffled off December 21.

The chairs were built by students as a way to raise money to support Tech Club, which is an after-school program for students who want to learn more about wood technology. The club works on various projects throughout the year, including building wooden toys for the National Honor Society’s Christmas Wish program.
In order to pay for the supplies for such projects, the Club is raffling the chairs (as a pair) which are made of pine and have been treated with exterior white deck stain.
Technology instructor and Club advisor Ted Drew said, “Not only do our kids get to work on manufacturing wood products, but they also get business experience from this raffle too.”
The tickets are available for purchase at four home basketball games during the month of December. The girls games are 12/9 and 12/16. The boys games are 12/2 and 12/18. Tickets are one for $5 or five for $20.[/private]
