On Monday, October 5 at 9 am, PS21: Performance Spaces for the 21st Century will hold an official ground breaking ceremony for the new PS21 performing arts facility at 2980 Route 66 in Chatham. After ten seasons of performances under a saddlespan tent, PS21 is delighted to announce that its new permanent building is beginning construction. This new building will be a huge benefit to the community and increase the organization’s ability to serve both the performing artists and their audiences.
[private]The innovative design by New Lebanon architect Evan Stoller provides a black box theater in an enclosed building, which opens up in the summer months to accommodate PS21’s annual summer performing arts festival. The team which has been working with the architect includes audio consultant David Kahn of Acoustic Distinction, theater design consultant Matt Welander, engineers Brandee Nelson and Nicholas Vamvas of Crawford and Associates Engineering, and Paul Winnie of Arcon Construction, Inc.
