Monday, October 12: Fall Foliage Hike at Bennington Battlefield at 10:30 am. Did you know we’ve added trails to this historic site? Come walk over the grounds where few trees stood during the battle 238 years ago, but majestic maples now adorn the hillsides with fall colors. These fun-filled nature programs are free because we want to encourage all folks with young children to engage in the outdoors! Come play outside! Saturday, October 17: Spectacular Snags Nature Hike at 10 am. As a tree dies, it surrenders to the forest around it. Its imposing structure becomes a hunting perch, a safe place to rear young, and a food source for animals and fungi. Join us on a nature hike to celebrate dead trees and the new life they sustain. Sunday, October 18: If These Rocks Could Talk: Geology Tour at 10 am. A geologist is really a storyteller, and David DeSimone will tell you a tale that goes back over 500 million years! Saturday, October 24: 8th Annual Trick or Treat Nature Trail from 4 to 7 pm. Meet forest friends along the Wild Wood trail, lit by jack-o-lanterns.
