Girls Soccer Team Back On Track, Grabs 3 Wins

After suffering their first league defeat last week against Mechanicville, the HFCS girls soccer team bounced back, picking up three wins this week.

HF 4 – Cambridge 1

Cambridge High, 10/2. The Panthers scored the first three goals of the first half before Cambridge found the back of the net. Jordyn Haynes scored unassisted, Darian Morgan, with an assist from Taylor Mann and Darian Morgan with a Mann assist got the Panthers out to a three goal lead. After Cambridge scored their lone goal, Angela Gonzalez assisted Mann for the four final score of the half and, eventually, the game. Jayde Tutunjian had five saves in goal for the Panthers while Countney Davis had eight for Cambridge.

HF 7 – Hoosic Valley 0

Hoosick Soccer Fields, 10/3. Playing a Saturday game after the rains caused a postponement earlier in the week, the Ladies crushed the Indians. Taylor Mann, helped by Ashley Foster, started the scoring in the rout. Meg Flynn, Kelly Pine and Samantha Flohr tacked on three more goals to give the Panthers a four goal lead at the half. Flohr was assisted by Angela Gonzalez. Gonzalez scored the first goal of the second half, with Raven Brenenstuhl adding the second. Both were assisted by Jordyn Haynes. Haynes would tack on the final goal with an assist from Jayde Tutunjian. Starting goalie Tutunjian had one save and when she came out of goal, Sydney Miller stepped in and had three saves of her own. Hoosic Valley goalie Aleyah Proper was kept busy, recording 13 saves.

HF 4- Stillwater 0

Hoosick Soccer Fields,10/6. HF (O) 10 – 3, (L) 10 – 1. The Ladies handily defeated Stillwater Tuesday afternoon. Rachael Lewsey, with an assist from Taylor Mann, scored the lone first half goal. After the break the Ladies tacked on three more goals. Angela Gonzalez scored, then Mann scored with an assist from Ashley Foster. Jordyn Haynes, with help from Gonzalez, provided the finishing touch. Jayde Tutunjian had two saves, Stillwater’s Danika Svendsen had 11 saves.
