HF 5 – Corinth 2

Corinth High, 9/30, HF (O) 10-0, (L) 8-0, Cor (O) 2-7. The Lady Panthers got out to a quick lead when Liz Ryan, with an assist from Ally Burdick, scored with less than one minute gone in the game. Burdick and Ryan both scored later in the half to give the Panthers a 3-1 lead at the break. After the Tomahawks scored an early second half goal, the Panthers scored twice more. Burdick, assisted by Megan Henry, scored first and an unassisted Ryan goal with 2:50 left capped the scoring. Cassie Sherman had five saves in goal while Corinth goalie A. Parnell recorded nine.

[private]HF 2 – Warrensburg 0

HFCS, 10/2, HF (O) 11-0, (L) 9-0, War (O) 4-6. After a scoreless first half, Erika Quackenbush got the Panthers on the board at the second half 14 minute mark with an assist from Ally Burdick. Four minutes later, Quackenbush assisted Liz Ryan with a goal. Both scores came on corners. Goalie Cassie Sherman had one save, Warrensburg’s Brittany Frasier had seven.

HF 3 – Emma Willard 0

Schuylerville High,10/3, HF (O) 12-0, (L) 9-0, EW (O) 3-5. Playing at Schuylerville High School, the Panthers were able to spend time playing on their turf field. With sectional play near, any time spent playing on turf is good for the team. This is more important now with the Pittstown Dome field unavailable. The game was scoreless at the end of the first half, but the Panthers erupted for three second half goals to bring home a win and maintain their undefeated record. Ally Burdick scored twice unassisted, and Liz Ryan scored once with an assist from Erika Quackenbush. Panther goalies Cassie Sherman had one save, her replacement Kaitlin Backes, had two saves. EW’s Sasha Bonesteel was kept hopping, doing everything but backflips to stop the barrage, recording 22 saves.

Coming Up: Friday, 10/9, Greenwich at HFCS, 4:15; Wednesday, 10/14, Salem at Salem, 4:15; Friday, 10/16, Emma Willard at Emma Willard, 4:15.[/private]
