Celebrate The Rensselaer Land Trust’s Newest Nature Preserve: Kinderhook Creek Nature Preserve

October 1, 2015 By eastwickpress

Saturday, October 3 at 10 am: Ribbon Cutting Ceremony – Kinderhook Creek Nature Preserve, Martha Hicks Road, Nassau, NY. Parking is available at the preserve. (Rain or shine.)

[private]The Rensselaer Land Trust invites you to a ribbon cutting ceremony to officially open our eighth nature preserve to the public. Hot coffee and pastries will be available. Wear comfortable walking shoes if you would like to join the guided hike to the Kinderhook Creek following the ceremony.

The Kinderhook Creek Nature Preserve is 73 acres with steep wooded hills and one-half mile of creek frontage. We are very grateful to David and Lucy Gaskell, Ken York, Robert and Jennifer Newton, and the Edward W. Golden Foundation, whose donations of land made this preserve possible. We also thank the Town of Nassau for its assistance.

Directions: Head south on RT 66 towards Nassau, go right onto Tsatsawassa Lake Road (before you reach the Post Office of East Nassau) and drive for approximately ½ mile. Take a left onto Martha Hicks Road and the Kinderhook Creek will be on your left in about 2/10ths of a mile. In your GPS or Google Maps, enter 285 Martha Hicks Road, East Nassau, NY 12062. For more information, contact Christine at 518-659-5263 or Christine@renstrust.org.[/private]
