Stein-Miner Elected President Of Board Of LVORC

Caitlin Stein-Miner has been elected to serve as President of the Board of Directors of Literacy Volunteers of Rensselaer County (LVORC). She has served on the Board since 2011, attaining the position of Vice President in 2013. She has been active in the many events that financially support LVORC including chairing the Literacy 5K in 2012.

. Stein-Miner received a Bachelor’ Degree in Sociology and Human Services with a minor in Special Education  from Russell Sage College and a Master’s Degree in Social Work from The University at Albany. She is presently a clinician at Samaritan Hospital Outpatient Clinic. Previously, she worked for 17 years as a case manager in different capacities for Rensselaer County and more recently worked on the BHO project in New York State. She is most proud of her role as a mom to two active teenagers.

Literacy Volunteers of Rensselaer County is a nonprofit educational organization that recruits, trains and supports volunteers to provide free, confidential tutoring to adults, out-of-school teens, children and families. One-to-one and small group tutors provide instruction in reading, writing, math, conversational English, and financial literacy, helping learners to achieve personal, social, educational and job-related goals. Since 1968, LVORC has provided Basic Literacy, English as a Second Language, and Family Literacy programs to give people the skills they need to lead productive lives, help their children succeed in school, and participate in every aspect of American life.  For more information, visit www.lvorc.org.[/private]
