New Lebanon Library Events and Book Sale

August 21 – Music – DBX2 in concert– 6:30 pm. 

A night of jazz standards. At the Library. 

August 22 – Kid’s Stuff – Paws-to-Read – 9 am. 

Therapy dogs come to the library and children read to their furry friends. And, of course, the dogs listen! Please call to register.

[private]August 24 – Community – Study the Constitution – 7 pm. 

Bi-weekly discussion group focusing on the study of the Constitution. Interested participants should bring their questions and be ready to share their opinions.

August 25 – Kid’s Stuff – Block Party: Legos in the Library! – 1 pm. Lego club for kids. We provide the Legos and will display all creations in the library until the next club.

August 26 – Literary – Poet Irene Willis – 7 pm. 

Poet Irene Willis will read from her published work. Discussion and signing follows.

August 27 – Community Film Series – 6:30 pm. 

Free screening of a current documentary film. Call for title.

August 28 – Music – Rev Tor on the Lawn – 6:30 pm. 

An evening of acoustic folk/rock covers and original songs from local favorite Tor Krautter. Bring a blanket or lawn chair, as the concert will be on the lawn, weather permitting. If the rains come, we will move inside.

BOOK SALE

The New Lebanon Library will hold its annual used book sale the weekend of August 21-23 at the Valley Plaza mall, Routes 20 and 22 in the center of New Lebanon, in a store front next  to the New Lebanon Post Office. The hours for the sale are: Friday, August 21, from 12 to 5 pm; Saturday, August 22 from 9 am to 4 pm; and Sunday, August 23, from 9 am to 2 pm. All proceeds from the sale benefit the library.

Available for sale will be a large assortment of hard and soft cover books, DVDs, books on CD and music CDs. This year there is an especially large selection of children’s books, including graphic novels. Prices for all items range from $.25 to $5.

Donations for the sale are still being accepted. Gently used books (excluding text books and encyclopedias), CDs, audiobooks, and DVDs may be dropped off at the Valley Plaza from  Tuesday, August 18  through Thursday, August 20 between the hours of 10 am and  2:30 pm. Prior to August 18, donations will be accepted at the library during regular library hours.
