Little Sprouts Baby Bump and Beyond, a children’s boutique offering pre-loved clothing, toys, furniture, baby gear, books, and more, opened on Saturday, August 1. The owner is Renee Parker (née Koronas), a graduate of Hoosick Falls High School (Class of ’02) and the mother of two children, aged four and eight and a half months. She has a degree in business and marketing from HVCC.

You can find just about anything you need for your kids here. Everything is in excellent condition; Parker is very particular in what she will buy or trade for store credit. Everything is washed and looks new. All equipment has all the parts and is in working order. It’s a super fun shop to visit with a wide assortment of merchandise and a play area with a chalkboard wall for kids to play in while you peruse all the goodies.

Before opening the shop, Parker worked at Trustco Bank for ten years, but that got complicated after her children were born; childcare was hard to find. So what’s a woman to do, then?

Searching on Craig’s List, she found a store in a nearby town that was going out of business and thought “Hoosick Fall could use a shop just like this,” so she bought all of their merchandise and fixtures, looked at several retail spaces in Hoosick Falls, and decided to set up shop on Church Street. She is very enthusiastic about the store’s prospects and Hoosick Falls. “I’m happy to be in this location.” she said. There’s easy parking, it’s near the Great Wall and the new Bagel and Brew, the Sweet Sara’s Bakery, and the Senior Center. “There are plenty of grandparents who go there and, hopefully, they will shop for their grandchildren at Little Sprouts. We’ve been getting lots of traffic and have received tremendous support from the community,” she said.

For now, Parker is focusing just on stuff for kid’s, but in the future she hopes to offer maternity clothing as well. She is constantly adding to her inventory, although at the present time, she is just buying gear; she has plenty of fall and winter clothing in stock.

H-Little Sprouts2-wYou can shop at Little Sprouts Thursday through Sunday, from 10 am to 6 pm. The store is located at 53 Church Street in Hoosick Falls, NY. Find out about new inventory and special promotions on the Little Sprouts Baby Bump and Beyond Facebook page.[/private]
