Auditions, Rehearsals Will Be Held At Historic Hubbard Hall
The Battenkill Chorale is accepting experienced choral singers for their twenty-first season, which opens with a program connected to the sesquicentennial of the Civil War, featuring Ralph Vaughan Williams’ impassioned plea for peace, Dona Nobis Pacem, January 17 at Helen Filene Ladd Concert Hall at Zankel Music Center, Skidmore College. Soloists Sylvia Stoner (Artist-in-Residence at Skidmore) and Keith Kibler will join the 100-voice chorus and 45-piece professional orchestra in this poignant work.
[private]The Battenkill Chorale has open enrollment, with auditions for vocal placement and solos only. Singers should be experienced in choral singing, and possess good sight-reading skills and vocal technique.
Rehearsals are on Thursday evenings from 7:30 to 9:45 pm at Hubbard Hall, an historic 1878 rural opera house located at 25 East Main Street in Cambridge, New York, with the first rehearsal scheduled for September 10. New members will be accepted through September 24. There is a $35 membership fee per concert program, plus the cost of music. To pre-register, please call (518) 677-8233 after September 5.
