Berlin July 4th Annual Independence Day Parade

July 2, 2015 By eastwickpress

For a celebration all about community spirit and tradition, join the festivities as the Berlin July 4th Parade Committee hosts the annual Independence Day Parade, with the theme, “Tall Tales”. The parade is set for Saturday, July 4 at 11 am.

[private] The parade steps off from Berlin Elementary School traveling north on School Street, then west on Park Avenue, north on Community Avenue, west on Elm Street, north on NYS Rt 22 to North Main Street, continuing to the end of South Main Street. Parade vehicles will turn south onto NYS Rt 22, then east onto Southeast Hollow Road, returning to the school. Marchers may follow the vehicle route or may turn north onto NYS Rt 22, then east onto Park Avenue, concluding at the Berlin Firehouse parking lot.

For safety reasons and for better viewing for all spectators, we encourage the use of the free parking areas established at the churches along Main Street, the Berlin Firehouse and the former Berlin Town Garage. Look for parking signs.

Music After The Parade

Hill Hollow Band will not only entertain along the parade route, but will continue the music, immediately following the parade, in the Berlin Firehouse parking lot. Stop by for a little social time and enjoy some great bluegrass music and acoustic rock covers.

Donations Appreciated

The parade committee appreciates the tremendous support the community has shown over the years. The cost of the parade is funded mostly with private donations. We need your sustained support to continue this time-honored tradition. Expenses continue to increase. Please consider sending your contribution to us at the address below.

Should you prefer to offer your support in person, we would be pleased to accept your contribution prior to the start of the parade at the sign-in/registration desk outside the Berlin Elementary School between 9:30 and 10:30 am. There will also be parade committee members available to accept your donation immediately following the parade at the Berlin Firehouse. Don’t forget, we accept donations year-round. No amount is too small and your support is greatly needed and appreciated. Please make your contribution payable to Berlin July 4th Parade Committee, and mail to PO Box 66, Berlin, NY 12022.
