St. Mary’s Academy, Hoosick Falls second graders recently held a bake sale in which they raised over $170 for the Second Chance Animal Shelter in Shaftbury, VT. As part of their service project, the students divided into teams and went shopping for supplies on the shelter’s wish list, staying within the teams’ budgets. Then, the students brought the supplies they had bought up to the shelter and took a tour to see how the shelter runs and met some of the animals that they had helped.
