HFCS Jazz Band To Perform At Troy Night Out Arts Event

May 21, 2015 By eastwickpress

You just never know where you’re going to find the Hooosick Falls Central Schools Jazz Band. They’ve got more gigs than some of our favorite professional bands.

For those of you who are faithful followers, you’ll find them performing during Troy Night Out at the Arts Center at 264 River Street in Troy. The group will display their musical prowess on Friday, May 29, from 6:30 to 7 pm. If you haven’t yet discovered the exceptional talent of these music students, why not take a ride to Troy and check them out? We promise it will be well worth the trip to hear them perform classic and contemporary jazz tunes. Plus, it sounds like the Night Out event itself is going to be a great one.

Troy Night Out is a monthly arts and cultural event that takes place the last Friday of every month in Downtown Troy from 5 to 9 pm. The event regularly draws thousands of people onto the streets of Troy, and attendees are able to enjoy art events, music venues, and fine restaurants, as well as unique boutiques of all varieties.

For more information, contact Joyce Brewer at 518-258-5722 or  Jazz Band Director Bill Brown at brownb@hoosickfallscsd.org.

The HFCS Jazz Band, led by the inimitable Bill Brown, will be playing at Troy Night Out on May 29 at The Arts Center on River Street. Here they are playing at the Debt to a Vet fundraiser, sponsored by Voice of a Vet, at Brown’s Brewery in North Hoosick on May 5. That event helped raise money for the Viet Nam Veteran’s Welcome Home in August and the Hoosick Tribute Flag Program. Photo courtesy of Gail Smith.
