The Rensselaer County Legislature will join with the county Environmental Management Council to sponsor an electronics recycling day next month, legislators announced.
The electronics recycling event will be held Saturday, April 11 from 9:30 am to 2 pm. The event will be held at the County Office Building, 1600 7th Avenue, downtown Troy.

“This is a safe, easy and affordable way to dispose of unwanted electronics and appliances and county residents are invited to participate,” said Legislator Alex Shannon, chair of the Legislature’s Environmental Committee.
The long list of acceptable items includes air conditioners, computers, household appliances, video game units, televisions, lawn equipment with oils and fluids removed, cell phones and PDAs, cash registers, microwaves and others.
“We have had a great response at the electronics recycling days sponsored by the Legislature and EMC. We expect a good turnout for this event, and to collect as many unwanted items in an environmentally safe manner as possible,” said Legislator Judith Breselor, member of the Legislature’s Environmental Committee.
Those participating in the electronics recycling event are asked to access the county parking lot via the Congress Street entrance.
The event is being supported by Pro Tek Recycling Technology Solutions. For more information, call the Legislature at 270-2880 or EMC at 270-2888. [/private]
