Softball
Vs. Granville – Granville jumped out to a 7 – 1 lead by the end of the third inning, then scored seven more while the Panthers scored three enroute to a 14 – 4 win over the Panthers. The Panthers had 13 hits and left 13 runners stranded. Liz Ryan, Erica Quackenbush and Alyssa Ellis each had three hits and Sydney Miller added two. Abby Gilson hit a double. Ellis took the loss on the mound.
Vs. Greenwich – Greenwich scored six runs in the first inning to cruise to a 13 – 4 win over Hoosick Falls. Alyssa Ellis went 3 of 4 at the plate, with a double and two singles and one RBI. Maddy Ryan, Liz Ryan and Cassie Sherman each had a single. Erica Quackenbush took the loss on the mound. The Ladies are 3 – 3 league and 3 – 3 overall.
Girls Lacrosse
Vs. Emma Willard – On a rainy day, the Ladies traveled to Troy and played Emma Willard and returned with a 12 – 7 loss. Caytlyn Springer and Kara LaFlamme each scored two goals. Maeve McAuliffe, Jordyn Haynes and Lauren Cottrell each had one goal.
Vs. Mt. Anthony – Facing another tough opponent, the Ladies traveled up to Bennington to take on the Patriots, who defeated the Panthers 13 – 3.
Vs. Schenectady – The Panthers crushed Schenectady Monday by a 20 – 2 score. Kara LaFLamme, Caytlyn Springer and Rachael Lewsey each scored four goals. Jordyn Haynes and Ally Burdick added three, and Mauve McAuliffe and Alyssa Houghton tossed in one. Zaynah Poore had six saves in goal.
Vs. Johnstown – Tuesday the Ladies made the long trip out to Johnstown and brought home a 11 – 10 victory. With six minutes to go, the Panthers were down 7 – 10. They then came roaring back to take the lead and the win. Caytlyn Springer had four goals, Jordyn Haynes had three, Rachael Lewsey had two and Ally Burdick and Shaelynn Kelly added one. Zaynah Poore had 5 saves.
The Ladies are now 4 – 4 on the season.
Boys Lacrosse
The Panther boys lacrosse team suffered two defeats over the past week at the hands of opponents Johnstown and Cambridge. Playing at the Hoosac School field, the Panthers suffered an 11 – 5 defeat to Johnstown. Playing at Cambridge (8 – 2) on Saturday, Hoosick Falls was outscored 12 – 5. Chris Shielding had seven saves for the Panthers. The Panthers are 2 – 5 so far this season.
