“Great Joy a-Coming!” Christmas Concert, Petersburgh Baptist Church

December 19, 2014 By eastwickpress

On Sunday, December 21, at 6 pm, there’s a “Great Joy a-Coming!” to the Petersburgh Baptist Church. The annual Christmas Concert is a lively local tradition and is sure to impart the joyous spirit of the season.

Under the inspired direction of Karen Webster, the multi-denominational choir will perform a program of Christmas songs representing many traditions and genres – classical and contemporary, blues and gospel, Celtic and calypso. Instrumentalists Leslie Green, Dan LaMontaigne, Linda Morrison, Emily Olsen, Matina Patsos and Martha von Schilgen will accompany the singers on everything from flute and oboe to violin and bodhran drum.

Delicious desserts and refreshments will be served after the concert. The program is free of charge, and all are welcome. Support your local musicians, bring along friends and family and experience the “Great Joy a-Coming!” to the world.

The Petersburgh Baptist Church is located at the junction of Routes 2 and 22 in Petersburgh. For more information, call 518-658-3834.
