Sunday, October 12, was a great day for a Cow Plop. The weather was ideal! The antique cars gleamed in the sun. There were plenty of games to play and rides in the barrel train for the kids. Folks waited in a long line for food and soft drinks. The grid squares were sold out early. There was even a Cow Plop song!
[private]Finally, Bruce Church brought out his cow and calf. The twosome meandered onto the grid and browsed and walked, barely noticing the crowd that waited anxiously for that winning moment. Again, Mom and son seemed content to just wander.
When the deed was finally done and the plop was scrutinized by judges Fr. Tom Zelker and SMA Principal Maureen Daurio, it was declared that the winning spot belonged to Sue Hickey.
