The late stage larvae of milkweed tussock moths (Euchaetes egle) gobble milkweed leaves in Grafton. The caterpillars are black, orange and white, with tufts of hair, warning predators that they do not have a pleasant taste. This photo was taken by Trix Niernberger, who has two photos in an exhibit at The Arts Center in Troy until October 19. The opening for the exhibit will be held during Troy Night Out on Friday, September 26.
