The Grafton Fire Department sponsored a “Biggest Loser Contest.” The contest started on February 1, 2014, and ended on May 31. It started as a Facebook® joke and then was organized by Jay Goyer, Vicky Burdick and Ingrid Gundrum. [private]Fifteen people joined. We held weekly weigh-ins on Saturday mornings. At the final weigh in we had eight faithful weight losers still weighing in. Our “Biggest Loser” was Jay Goyer, losing 56.4 lbs. for a total percentage of 16.48. He won $360. In second place was Erwin Greene, losing 31 lbs. for a total percentage of 14.62, winning $105. In third was Roy Williams, losing 33.2 lbs. for a total percentage of 13.96, winning $52. The group lost a total of 226.2 lbs., and the Grafton Volunteer Fire Department received $175 towards its digital sign fund.
