Hoosick Falls 3    Schuylerville 1

On a perfect day for being outside, the Panther Ladies softball team played the Schuylerville Black Horses on Monday on the HFCS diamond. Hoosick Falls put one run in the books in each of the first three innings, and that was all they needed to take a 3 – 1 victory. Both teams had five hits.

Stillwater 7        Hoosick Falls 3

On Tuesday, the Lady Panthers hosted the Stillwater Warriors. Both teams came into the game 3 – 0 in league play. At the end of the game, Stillwater was still the undefeated team.

Stillwater set the pace in the top of the first inning, scoring two runs. By the time the Panthers put their first run across the plate in the bottom of the fifth inning, Stillwater had scored five. Both teams scored twice in the seventh inning to cap the scoring. The score when all was said and done was Stillwater 7, Hoosick Falls 3.

The Panthers had seven hits against one of the WASAREN League’s best pitchers. Erica Quackenbush and Liz Ryan each went 2 for 3. Quackenbush had a double, a single and an RBI. Ryan had two singles and scored twice.

Hoosick Falls 9 Granville 5

The Ladies faced the Granville Golden Horde on Wednesday. In a cold, blustery wind, pitcher Erica Quackenbush threw a three-hitter and struck out nine to lead the Panthers to a 9 – 6 win. Liz Ryan led the offense with a double and a single. Chelsea Stevens had two singles.

The team record now stands at 3 – 1 league and 3 – 3 overall. Quackenbush’s pitching record now stands at 4 – 2.

On Thursday, April 24, the Panthers go to Hoosic Valley High to play at 4:15. On Saturday, April 26, they will make the journey out to Cooperstown to play at 11 am and 1 pm. On Monday, April 28, they will go to Granville for a 4:15 start. On Wednesday, April 30, after a short trip down Route 7, they will face the Tamarac Bengals at 4:15 pm.
