April 25, 2014 By eastwickpress

submitted by Erin Clary, Communications Specialist, BCSD

The Berlin High School Music and Art Department will present their Broadway Cabaret and Art Auction on Thursday, May 1, at the Middle School/High School auditorium and lobby.  Proceeds will help fund next year’s joint art/music trip to New York City.

The silent auction of student artwork includes exceptional paintings and photography. The Cabaret will feature solos, duets and group performances of Broadway hits, both past and present, including Grease, Les Miserables and Wicked.

The Berlin High School Jazz Band will also perform, and the National Art Honor Society members will emcee the event.

“This is a great opportunity to showcase our students’ work as a unified art department,” said Berlin High School Choral Director Leslie Eliashuk. “The students have really collaborated to work toward a common goal, and the cross curricular activity really fosters a sense of community.”

Tickets are available at the door. Admission prices are $5 for the Cabaret only; $8 for the Cabaret with five auction tickets and $10 for Cabaret with 10 auction tickets.  The auction will begin at 6:30 pm in the main lobby. Performances start at 7 pm.  Complimentary desserts will be served.
