A group of Tech Valley High School students will report to school on Sunday to spend the day engrossed in math. And they are doing so willingly!
The students are competing in the Moody’s Mega Math Challenge, during which they have 14 hours to complete an open-ended, applied math modeling problem based on a real world issue.
Panels of Ph.D. level applied mathematicians will serve as judges during three rounds of judging in the international contest.
A Tech Valley math teacher said TVHS is fielding two teams to compete in the competition. Included on the all-junior teams is Erin Wilder of New Lebanon.
