Grafton’s Helen Ellett Celebrates Her 100th Birthday

Sunday, February 16, was Helen Ellett’s 100th Birthday. Her family put on a beautiful birthday party for her at the Grafton Everett Wagar Senior Citizen Center from 12 to 3 pm. The public was invited.

Helen Ellett was the Fire Observer at the Dickinson Hill Fire Tower from 1943 to 1953 and from 1959 to 1965.She was also the founder of the Grafton Trail Riders Horse Club.

Many people were there to celebrate her birthday. What a great honor it was. Rick Miller, who was the Fire Observer on the Kane Mountain Fire Tower in the southern Adirondacks from 1978 to 1983, came to wish Helen Ellett a Happy 100th Birthday. It was incredible to see two fire observers.
