Grafton Organizational Meeting 2014

On  Monday, January 6, the Grafton Town Board held its annual  organizational meeting at 6:30 pm in the Town Hall. Most of the appointments passed with little or no comment.

[private]Supervisor Higgins set up a series of committees to handle various aspects of Town Board business and appointed two Board members to each one. These are:

Fire & Rescue Squad – Crandall and Ungaro

Parks & Cemeteries — Messenger and Crandall

Highway – Claus and Ungaro

Buildings & Grounds – Crandall and Ungaro

Street Lighting – Messenger and Claus

Recycling – Claus and Ungaro

Insurance – Messenger and Claus

Employee Benefits – Messenger and Crandall

Supervisor’s Appointments

Secretary to the Supervisor – Josef Allain – $15,600/year

Outside Auditing Services – West & Co. / Laura Reynolds

Town Bookkeeper – Maureen Seel – $12,500/year

Deputy Supervisor – Barbara Messenger

Town Historian – Pat Niebuhr – $500/year

Town Clerk Appointments

Deputy Town Clerk – Allison Kirchner – $500/year

Deputy Town Clerk – James Remington

Deputy Registrar of Vital Statistics – Allison Kirchner

Highway Supt. Appointments

Deputy Highway Superintendent – James Goyer

Town Board Appointments

Attorney to the Town of Grafton – Salvatore Ferlazzo

Dog Control Officer – Austin Subcleff – $4,500/year

Assessor’s Clerk – Helen Hemendinger – $10,000/year

Planning Board Chairman – Tom Withcuskey – $1,500/year

Planning Board Member – Tom Withcuskey (5 year term)

Planning Board Secretary – Jessica Crandall – $75 per meeting

Court Clerk – Kathleen Mason-Wagar – $4,400/year

Building Inspector/Code Enforcement Officer – Thomas Withcuskey – $16,480/year

Youth Director – Noelle Goyer – $1,750/year

Engineer to the Town of Grafton – Russ Reeves

Senior Citizen Representative – Connie Alderman

Board of Assessment Review – Stacy Reinhard – $150/year

Official newspapers – The Record and The Eastwick Press

Banks/Depositories – Pioneer Commercial Bank

Meetings of the Town Board will be on the second Monday of each month at 7 pm except in October, which will be on October 20.

The mileage reimbursement rate was set at $.56 per mile, and the fee for bouncing a check to the Town was set at $35.

Supervisor Higgins announced that the annual accounting of the books for the Town Supervisor, Town Clerk and Judges and Tax Collector will be held at 6 pm on January 13 in the Grafton Town Hall. Books will be on display for Town Board Members to view. The regular Town Board meeting will be held at 7 pm that same evening.

Supervisor – $9,450/year

Town Board  Members (4) – $3,000/year each

Justices (2) – $6,800/year each

Town Clerk – $11,500/year

Highway Superintendent – $46,500/year

Assessor – $19,000/year

Tax Collector – $4,200/year

Registrar of Vital Statistics – $1,000/year[/private]
