HFCS 55                     Greenwich 48

On Wednesday evening, playing at home against the undefeated Greenwich Witches, the Panther Ladies were the underdog. The Panthers fell behind early but came back to lead much of the second quarter. After the break, the Ladies led by eight to twelve through most of the final half. With two minutes left, the lead was ten. With one minute left, six points. With forty seconds left the Panthers were perilously hanging on to a three point, 51 – 48, lead. With 21 seconds left, Ashley St. Onge sank two free throws then was fouled on the box-out after her foul shot, giving her two more. Cool as could be, she sank those two to seal the game. Final score, 55 – 48, Panthers win.

Megan Flynn had 18 points, and St. Onge added 10. Greenwich ace Alexis Case was held to nine points.

This Friday, December 20, the Ladies will play the 1 – 2 Cambridge Indians on the HFCS court at 7:30 pm.

Over the holiday weekend of Friday, December 27, and Saturday, December 28, the Panther Ladies will host the four team Hoosier Holiday Girls Tournament. On both days the JV contests will start at 3 pm and 4:30 pm with Varsity action to start at 6 and 7:30 pm. The Saturday Championship Game is scheduled to begin at 7:30 pm.
