Olivia is active in both the Stablemates and Wild Things 4-H Clubs. Olivia has participated in all aspects of the horse program for 13 years. There isn’t anything in the horse program she has not tried or been really involved with from riding and showing to educational events such as Horse Bowl, Communications and Hippology. Olivia has participated in horse events at the county, state and national level. Olivia was on the 2012 NYS Horse Communication team and the 2011 NYS Hippology Team and competed at the National 4-H Roundup in Kentucky both years.
Additionally, Olivia was a Teen Representative from 2010-12 on the New York State Horse Education Committee. She co-coached the novice horse bowl county team this year and was helpful behind the scenes at club and county events playing a more active role in sharing her knowledge and assisting with the operation and facilitation of events.
Olivia is currently a senior at Hoosic Valley High School. The Lohnes Awardee is nominated and selected by the members of the 9 different 4-H Horse Clubs in Rensselaer County. If you are interested in learning more about 4-H in your area, contact your respective Cooperative Extension office.
