Ah-Nee Banker

Lebanon Springs – Ah-Nee “Cindy” Banker, 66, passed away Wednesday, December 4, 2013, at Hillcrest Commons in Pittsfield, MA. Born in Taiwan on July 28, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Lin Ting-Mao and Lin Chen Hsiu-Chin.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAAh-Nee worked in tourism in Taipei, Taiwan, before meeting her husband Charles, who was stationed in Taiwan while serving with the U.S. Army. They were married on August 3, 1972, in Taiwan. Returning with Charles to the United States, Cindy settled in Lebanon Springs, NY, and was a homemaker raising her family. She was also employed by several businesses in the New Lebanon, NY, area as a sous-chef and housekeeper. In 1977, she was naturalized as an American citizen. Cindy was a member of the Lebanon Valley Historical Society. She enjoyed crafts, knitting, origami, cooking and traveling.

Cindy is the beloved wife of Charles D. Banker, loving mother of Margaret M. Banker and husband Chris Tripler of Beverly, MA, Mary C. Banker and husband Sam Geddes of London, England, Timothy L. Banker of Glastonbury, CT, and Chenxian Lin of Taiwan, and grandmother of Augustus Tripler and John Geddes. She is also survived by nine brothers and sisters in Taiwan and several nieces and nephews. She is pre-deceased by one brother.

A celebration of Cindy’s life was held Sunday, December 8, from 1 to 5 pm at the Shaker Meadows Bed and Breakfast, New Lebanon. After a 1 pm luncheon, at 2 pm friends and family shared stories of Cindy’s life. She will be buried in the spring in the Cemetery of the Evergreens in New Lebanon. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the New Lebanon Library, 550 State Route 20, New Lebanon, NY, 12125, in memory of Ah-Nee Banker.
