The Berlin cross country teams finished their regular season this past Saturday up at SPAC in the Burnt Hills Invitational.
Boys Finish Fourth Overall

The boys had their best performance of the year as they finished 4th overall and 2nd amongst Class D schools. Evan Dawes continued to be a leader as he finished 18th with a time of 17:36. He was followed by Nick Styer who continues to make a surge at the end of the year as he finished 25th with a time of 18:03 and Jackson Burhans who was right behind Nick for 26th at a time of 18:06. Travis Riccardi finished 36th with a time of 18:37 followed by Alex Flowers in 41st with a time of 19:06. Charlie Eaton celebrated his birthday in style as he ran an impressive 20:36, and he was followed by Tim Shupe who finished at 22:42. The boys look to threaten at the league championship next week and at Sectionals on November 1 as they have now jumped class D rival Duanesburg.
Girls Finish Strong
The girls finished a strong 7th overall and 5th amongst Class D schools. The girls were led once again by Serena Rizzo, who pushed herself to the limit and kept herself in the running to make States as she finished 18th with a time of 21:17. Haley Styer kept improving as she finished 37th with a time of 23:28, and Gigi French ran her best race of the year as she finished 42nd with a time of 24:20. Molly Ruebel continues to make serious strides as she finished with a time of 25:51. Danielle Jones finished with a time of 27:37, and Kaitlyn Moon finished her last run at SPAC with a time of 28:39.
The teams compete in the WASAREN League Championships next Tuesday, October 22, at 8 am in Queensbury.
