Tamarac came to the Hoosick Soccer Complex last Thursday looking to upset the Ladies.
In the first half, the Bengals got a penalty kick on a questionable call. The Bengals scored on the kick and took a 1 – 0 lead.
It turned out to be a temporary setback for the Panthers. Jordyn Haynes got HF on the board soon after to tie the game, and the Panthers never looked back. Rachel Pine tacked on another first half goal. After the half, both Haynes and Pine scored again. The Panthers won the game 4 – 1.
Monday’s game with the Schuylerville Black Horses was moved to Tuesday night due to the afternoon storms. The Black Horses brought a 9 – 0 record into the game and have been the only team to defeat the Panthers. The Panthers were looking forward to getting a chance to avenge that loss.
The Tuesday game under the lights was between two very evenly matched teams. One break could mean the ball game, and that is just what happened. In the 21st minute Hoosick Falls gave up a penalty kick to the Black Horses. The shot was made, and the Horses took a 1 – 0 lead. HF put some scares in the Horses but could not get the ball into the net. The Horses’ goalie had nine saves; Hannah Fricke had 11 saves for the Panthers.
On Wednesday, the Greenwich Witches came to Delurey Field. The Panthers came away with a 9 – 0 win. McKenzie Hinchliffe had a hat trick; Rachel Pine had 2 goals and Casie Mann, Jordyn Haynes, Kolumbia Cook and Dana O’Malley each scored once.
On Friday, October 11, Cambridge will visit the Hoosick Soccer Complex for a game scheduled to begin at 4:15 pm. On Tuesday, October 15, they will go to Stillwater for a night match. Game time is 7 pm.
