Basket Weaving Workshop In Grafton

October 4, 2013 By eastwickpress

The Grafton Community Library presents an Intermediate Basket Weaving – Tote Basket Workshop as part of the Grafton Community Arts Program that has been awarded grant funding from The Arts Center of the Capital Region.
The student will learn intermediate basket making techniques to create this attractive basket.  Basic weaving skills are required.  Linda Dayton is the instructor for this class.
The Tote Basket is a sturdy basket useful for carrying books, craft projects, beach gear or even picnic items.  Measuring 13” by 5 ½” and 11 ½ inches deep, it is large enough to be used as a magazine holder.  Shaker Tape is attached for the handles and dyed reeds add a bit of color to the basket.
The class will be held on both Saturday, October 19, and Saturday, October 26, from 9 am to 12:30 pm at the Everett Wagar Senior Center in Grafton.  Participants must be able to attend both sessions.  Class size is limited to 10 participants (adults only).  Preregistration is required, along with a $10 materials fee.  Sign up at the Library at 2455 NY Route 2. Connect with the Grafton Community Library by phone at 279-0580 or visit www.graftoncommunitylibrary.org.
