HF Field Hockey Off To Great Start

Panther field hockey is off to a great start. Four games in they have four victories, four shutouts and a big win over Columbia High School. The season looks very promising.

schools were invited to participate. On Friday, host HF faced Emma Willard. The Panthers posted a 3 – 0 win. Liz Ryan scored two goals, and Olivia Schneider scored one.  In the other game, Columbia defeated Salem to advance to the championship game.
In Saturday’s championship game, Columbia and HF faced off at 12:30 pm. HF dominated the first half, outshooting Columbia 18 – 0 and taking a 3 – 0 lead on goals by Olivia Schneider, Liz Ryan and Caytlyn Springer. In the second half, Maddy Ryan and Brooke Davendonis scored, and the Panthers took a 5 – 0 lead.
Hoosick Falls was champion of their tournament. Emma Willard defeated Salem in the consolation game.
On Monday the Ladies traveled to Salem to face the Generals. HF recorded a 7 – 0 victory. Olivia Schneider tallied three goals. Carsen Williams scored two with Liz Ryan and Allyson Burdick each chipping in one. Hoosick Falls goalies Ashley St. Onge and Zaynah Poore recorded 2 saves total, while the Salem goalie recorded 28.
Hoosick Falls is now 4 – 0.
This is a fun team to watch. They are there to score goals, period. This is not a team looking for someone to step up. They all step up. They are aggressive. They want control of the game, and they want it now. If you ever played, enjoyed watching your own kids playing or just want to check out a team that is playing to win and isn’t shy about it, then you owe it to yourself to stop over some afternoon and watch these girls play. They’d love to put on a show for you.
The Ladies next play on Friday, September 13, at home against Schuylerville. On Monday, September 16, the team travels to Greenwich, and Wednesday, September 18, they travel to Corinth. All these games are scheduled to begin at 4:15.
