Molly McGovern-Hoyt

West Hoosick – Molly McGovern-Hoyt of West Arlington, VT, 40 years old, beloved wife of Wayne Hoyt, died unexpectedly at her home on Tuesday, August 6, 2013.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her wonderful step-children, Ashley, Lindsay, Kylie and Logan Hoyt, her parents, William and Barbara McGovern of West Hoosick, NY, her grandmother, Helen McGovern, and her aunts and uncles, Barbara and George Arakelian and Christine and Richard Catlin. Molly is pre-deceased by her sister, Karen McGovern.
ob-McGovern-HoytMolly graduated from Hoosick Falls Central School, in Hoosick Falls, NY, attended the University of Kentucky for three years and graduated from the Culinary Arts Program at Schenectady Community College. She loved to cook and was employed as a chef at the Ekwanok Country Club in Manchester, VT, and with her husband operated the Black Tie to Bar-B-Q Catering Company.
Molly loved animals and often found homes for unwanted pets. She leaves behind her dog Piggy White and her cat Bogsie. She was an adventurous soul, at one time driving a stock car at Lebanon Valley Speedway, snowmobiling in Montana, horse jumping in her 4-H days and fly fishing on the Battenkill. She loved gardening and finding treasures at yard sales. She had a wonderful gift of finding just the perfect words to express her feelings in many notes and letters she sent to her family and friends.
A funeral service was held on Monday, August 12, at 11 am from the Oakwood Bible Church, 260 Oakwood Avenue, Troy, NY. Friends called at the Church from 9 am until the start of the service. Burial was at 1 pm in the West Hoosick Rural Cemetery, West Hoosick. Memorial contributions may be made to the Karen McGovern Fund through the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main Street, Hoosick Falls, NY, 12090, which is handling the arrangements.
