from the NYS DOT
Motorists are advised that a quarter mile stretch of Route 2 in Petersburgh will be closed from Monday, July 8, through July 21 for slope repairs and for repairs to a culvert.
[private]The closure on Route 2, also known there as the Taconic Trail, is between Weaver Dam Road and East Hollow Road and is approximately 3½ miles from the Massachusetts border.
Two detours will be posted for this work. Car traffic will be detoured onto East Hollow Road (Rensselaer County Route 91) around the closure. Truck traffic will be detoured from Route 2 onto Route 22, Route 43, Massachusetts Route 43 and Massachusetts Route 2.
Motorists are reminded that fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. In accordance with the Work Zone Safety Act of 2005, convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver’s license. It is imperative that motorists remember to drive carefully through this construction zone, for their own safety and the safety of workers.
