Agatha Christie At The Theater Barn

July 19, 2013 By eastwickpress

Agatha Christie’s The Unexpected Guest is playing at The Theater Barn, 654 Route 20, New Lebanon, through Sunday, July 21. Christie murder mysteries have become an annual tradition at The Barn, and this one is sure to please her most ardent fans.
On a foggy night in Wales, Michael Starkwedder runs his car off the road and walks to the nearest house seeking help. Instead he finds a man murdered and his beautiful wife standing over him with a gun. The dazed woman confesses, but the enraptured Starkwedder believes otherwise and decides to help her by pinning the murder on an intruder.  But who really did it?

The other family members all have motives, and the police open up a Pandora’s Box of suspicions and intrigues. The audience is left to sift through the clues and red herrings that Dame Agatha weaves through her clever mysteries.
Director Allen Phelps has assembled a cast of talented Theater Barn veterans and newcomers for this popular show.  Returning from past years are Kathleen Carey, John Cromie, Meg Dooley, Ben Katagiri and John Trainor.  Joining them are Ken Dillon, Stephen Powell, Brittany Silver and Levi Squier.
Performances at the air conditioned Theater Barn are Thursday and Friday at 8 pm, Saturday at 4 pm and 8 pm and Sunday at 2 pm.  Tickets cost $24 for the evening performances and $22 for the Sunday matinée. For information and reservations call 518-794-8989.  For more information go to www.theaterbarn.com.
