Top Ten Seniors Of The Class Of 2013 At HFCS

Hoosick Falls Jr./Sr. High School is proud to announce the Top Ten Seniors of the Class of 2013. The Valedictorian is Jason Woods, son of Robert and Mary Beth Woods, of Eagle Bridge. In his years at Hoosick Falls, Jason was a member of National Honor Society, Varsity Soccer, Newspaper and Masterminds. In the fall, Jason will attend Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and major in Computer Science.
[private]The Salutatorian is Molly Ann Fleming, daughter of Sharon Post and David Fleming of Hoosick Falls.  In her years at Hoosick Falls, Molly was a member of National Honor Society (Historian), Drama Club, Pep Band, Key Club (Secretary) and Masterminds. Molly will be attending The University at Albany Honors College in the fall.
Katherine Danforth, daughter of Gary and Eleanor Danforth of Hoosick Falls, ranks third in the senior class.  Katherine has been a member of National Honor Society, Drama Club, Running Club, Key Club and has taken vocal and piano lessons throughout high school. In the fall Katherine will attend SUNY Potsdam and will pursue Musical Theatre.
Julia Baker, daughter of Kendal and Nina Baker of Hoosick Falls, ranks fourth in the class. In her years at Hoosick Falls, Julia has been involved in Key Club (President), The Panther Post (Co-Editor in Chief), National Honor Society (Secretary) and Varsity Soccer (Class C Champions). Julia has played violin with the Green Mountain Orchestra, Sage City Symphony Orchestra and the Empire State Youth Orchestra. In the fall Julia will attend the College of Holy Cross and will major in Biochemistry in the Pre-Medical Program.
Mary Peters, daughter of William and Patricia Peters of Hoosick Falls, ranks fifth in the class. In her years at Hoosick Falls Mary was a member of National Honor Society (Vice President), Varsity Club, Varsity Soccer (Class C Champions) and served as a mentor. In the fall Mary will be attending Quinnipiac University and will major in Diagnostic Imaging.
Samantha Brewer, daughter of Joyce and Todd Brewer of Hoosick Falls, ranks sixth in the senior class. In her years at Hoosick Falls Samantha has been a member of Key Club, Chorus, Jazz Band, Pep Band, Symphonic Band and Drama Club. Samantha has been a Girl Scout for 12 years and recently earned her Gold Award. In the fall Samantha will attend Canisius College and will major in Sports Management and Business.
Evan Phillips, son of Kimberly and Bill Phillips of Hoosick Falls, ranks seventh in the class. Evan has been a member of National Honor Society, Varsity Soccer and Varsity Basketball. Evan will attend Goucher College in the fall and will major in Economics.
Kassidy Hitt, daughter of Timothy Hitt of Arlington, VT, and Pamela Powers of North Hoosick, ranks eighth in the senior class. In her years at Hoosick Falls Kassidy has been involved in 4-H, Varsity Softball, Varsity Basketball, Varsity Field Hockey, Newspaper, Cornell Cooperative Extension, the Pioneer Fish and Game Club and served as a People to People Ambassador to China. Kassidy will be attending Cornell University in the fall majoring in Agricultural Management and Sales.
Bradley Burns, son of Jonathan and Sue Burns of Hoosick Falls, ranks ninth in the class. Brad has been a member of National Honor Society, Key Club, Varsity Football (Captain, Class C Champions), Varsity Wrestling (Captain), Varsity Club (Event Coordinator) and served as the Treasurer of his Class.  In the fall Bradley will attend Hobart and William Smith College and will major in Economics.
Umair Ahmad, son of Mushtaq Ahmad and Nasreen Akhtar of Hoosick, ranks tenth in the senior class. In his years at Hoosick Falls Umair has been a member of Masterminds, Newspaper and Key Club. In the fall, Umair will be attending The University at Albany and will major in Computer Science.
