On Thursday, June 20, at 6:30 pm Columbia County author Julia Pomeroy will read from her book, No Safe Ground, at the New Lebanon Library. The reading will be followed by Q&A, a book signing and an author reception with light refreshments.

Pomeroy was born in Okinawa and spent her childhood in Africa where she went to Italian missionary schools. Her family moved to Rome, Italy, when she was eleven. At nineteen, she moved to the States, first to Cambridge, MA, then Washington, DC. She and her family have lived in Columbia County since 1990. They owned the Blue Plate Restaurant in Chatham, which was the inspiration for Julia’s mysteries, The Dark End Of Town (Carroll & Graf 2006) and Cold Moon Home (Carroll & Graf 2007). Her newest book, No Safe Ground, was published in March.
The public is welcome to this event. The Library, at 550 State Route 20, is located ¼ mile north of the yellow blinking light at the intersection of Routes 20/22.
