HFCS Lacrosse: Girls Make History In Cohoes; Boys Defeated By Cambridge

The Ladies lacrosse team took an uneventful ride down Route 7 to Cohoes High Monday. When they returned, the Ladies brought back history. They had secured the first official victory in HFCS Girls Lacrosse, defeating Cohoes in a come from behind 9 – 7 win. Kiri Wilkins had four goals in the win. Games this week for the Ladies are Thursday, April 18, at Schenectady (4:30 pm),; Monday, April 22, home vs. Cohoes (4:15 pm) and Wednesday, April 24, travel to Albany Academy (4:15 pm).
In the only game the team played since last Thursday, the Panther Boys Lacrosse team took the short ride to Cambridge to face the Indians at their home. It was not a bluebird day, as temperatures topped out in the low thirties. It felt colder. The Panthers held their own for the first half, but after the break the Indians pulled away for a 14 – 3 win. Noah Labarge, Damon Dubois and Robert Marcoux each scored one goal for the Panthers. The Panther boys team is in its first year of league competition. This week’s games are Thursday, April 18, at home against Voorheesville (5 pm), Saturday, April 20, a rescheduled home game vs. Maple Hill (1 pm) and Tuesday, April 23, home against Schuylerville (5 pm).
