Are you ready for some revelry? Darrow School invites the community to its the annual solstice celebration, Winter Revels, on Friday, December 7, at 4:30 pm and Saturday, December 8, at 4:30 pm. Both performances are free and open to the public.
Darrow’s Winter Revels is a lively seasonal celebration, a favorite Darrow tradition, featuring spectacular Renaissance costumes and traditional madrigals and folk tunes. The performances also include other music, drama and comedy, as selected by the current students and faculty.
This year’s production will include several new takes on the traditional Revels theme, including a sword dance and a pantomime performance of a mythological tale about a woman who searches for the fading winter sun in order to bring music and dancing back to her mountainside village.
Both performances will take place in Darrow’s historic Tannery building and are free to all who wish to attend. The school asks those who plan to attend to please RSVP to Geoffrey Miller at 518-794-6555 or email millerg@darrowschool.org.
