The Hoosick Falls Central School boys soccer team stayed mathematically eligible for the WASAREN League title with a 3-1 win at Ken Baker Field on Senior Night, Thursday, October 11.
Taylor Baker and Chris Lacroix scored in the first half to give the Panthers a 2-0 advantage. Tamarac cut the lead to 2-1 when Hunter Briccetti scored with 17 minutes left, but the Panthers iced the game when Max Haar was taken down in the box and Evan Phillips drilled a penalty kick past the Bengals’ netminder.
“Tamarac came in on a hot streak,” said Hoosick Falls Coach Mike Young. “This was a big-time effort.”
Noah Choni made eight saves for the Panthers, who improve to 9-4 and 8-3 in the WASAREN League.
