Letter To The Editor – Misrepresenting Neighbors?

July 27, 2012 By eastwickpress

Dear Editor,
I am writing in regard to an article in last week’s Eastwick Press about the Grafton shooting range.
We have lived on Stuffle Street for 20 years. This road is a neighborhood of wonderful people. We watch each other’s properties and take care of each other.
I read the article on Saturday in the Press where Ms. Nadia Ferran stated that “all the neighbors are against it [the firing range].” I wonder what neighbors Ms. Ferran spoke to? Of the neighbors I spoke with, none! However, some of us did receive a flyer in our door about being in a “falling bullet zone” from Mr. Mark Ferran. That did really disturb us and several neighbors that I showed this flyer to.
I think this is a little extreme! I am confident that the Town of Grafton is not going to allow unsafe use of fire arms. We would appreciate if the Ferran family would not use the residents of Stuffle Street in their comments! It seems to me that in the past 3 weeks that this family has returned to live on Stuffle Street they are putting the rest of us in a position that they themselves are creating! We have hunters who hunt in the area. We have the rod and gun club on Route 2. I am all about safe settings, especially with guns. What I am not fond of is a blanket statement about our neighbors!
Thank you,
Debra Reardon
