Marion K. Robbins

Canaan – Marion Koch Robbins, 92, of Westford, MA, died on Saturday morning, May 19, 2012, at the Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield, MA. She has resided with her daughter in Canaan, NY, for the past five years.
Born in Elkton, MN, on March 10, 1920, she was the daughter of the late William F. and Alma Jech Koch. She was the loving wife of the late Donald A. Robbins, who died in 1988. Marion was a member of the First Congregational Church in Pittsfield.
After graduating from Michigan schools, Marion met her future husband, who was serving in the United States Navy. She was a resident of Westford and worked for over 25 years as an auditor for the Internal Revenue Service in Andover, MA, retiring at the age of 87. She loved to read and to play Scrabble® and was a great supporter of the Salvation Army.
Survivors include her daughter with whom she resided, Jeanette R. and husband Harold O’Brien of Canaan, NY, her siblings, Mable Gailbraith and William Koch, both of Michigan, and Dorothy Bandy of Florida, her grandchildren, Patrick Whitman, James Robbins Jr., Dawn Mancuso, Dianne Constant, Karen Whitman, Matthew Robbins and Delos Whitman, along with 13 great-grandchildren. She is pre-deceased by a son, James F. Robbins, a great-grandson, Tyler Mancuso, and siblings, Elsie Harmson, Helen Johnson and Donald Koch.
Per Marion’s wishes there will be no calling hours or services. A Celebration of her life will take place at a later date. To remember her in a special way, contributions may be given to the Salvation Army in care of Hall & Higgins Funeral Home, P.O. Box 9, Stephentown, NY, 12168.
