HFCS Cabaret 2012

May 4, 2012 By eastwickpress

Proud parents and community members had an opportunity to enjoy the talents of Hoosick Falls Central School students Saturday evening, April 28, at the Performing Arts Council Cabaret 2012.

The high school gym was transformed. There was a stage with backdrop and plenty of microphones. There were table covers and vases with roses on round tables with comfortable seating. Cakes, cookies and soft drinks were available throughout the evening.
To say the entertainment was spectacular is an understatement. The talented performers were a credit to their dedicated teachers. There were instrumental and vocal solos and duets, performances by elementary through high school choruses and, of course, the school’s famous Jazz Band.
The musical selections covered everything from folk to Americana to Lennon and McCartney to Mozart, Beethoven, JS Bach and Brahms. Students sang songs from musicals and from opera. They sang in English and in foreign languages. The Cabaret offered a little bit of everything and showed the variety of musical material to which the students are exposed. It was a great evening.
